When the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met one another on the day of Eid, they would greet each other with: “Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum”.
Greeting others with this phrase is acceptable, and you may also say “Eid Mubarak”.

The common reply when someone greets you with “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum” is to respond with the same phrase: “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum”. You may also reply with “Ameen” or “Khair mubarak to you”.
