When facing adversity and obstacles, the only way forward is to proceed with hope and faith. Being trapped in fear, anxiety, and resentment will only harm you. Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) decided to emigrate from Egypt to a city called Ur with his wife Hajar and his nephew Prophet Lut (peace be upon him).<\/div>\n

The Qur’an records the exact du’a made by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him): “\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651 \u0647\u064e\u0628\u0652 \u0644\u0650\u064a \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0635\u064e\u0651\u0627\u0644\u0650\u062d\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e” (Rabbi hab lee minas saaliheen), which means “My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.” He continued to make this supplication, and eventually Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) bestowed their first son upon the couple. The subsequent verse states: “So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.” (Qur’an 37:101)<\/div>\n
To express their gratitude, they named their first son Ishmael, which means “God listens” or “God has heard.”<\/div>\n
When we read the Prophetic du’as in the Qur’an, it may seem as though things happened immediately for them\u2014as if they were favored, with a simple formula of asking and receiving.<\/div>\n
