We must take the time and effort to remember Him and call upon Him.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-HxU5faYvldRjmec45FOc8DmSnMf\">There are many duas and ways to worship Allah, and in this text, we will cover one of the simplest. It consists of only four words: the Rabbana Wa Taqabbal dua.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-JltrfQvqbdFCntcIpCOcZiEance\">Meaning of Rabbana Wa Taqabbal and Arabic Text:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-WQ2yfhjw2dcepBcrLrVccArPnle\">Here is the ayat in Arabic, along with its transliteration and English meaning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-JptOftCpJdgI4ncM4JxcQti2n4V\">\u0631\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0651\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0642\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0651\u0644\u0652 \u062f\u064f\u0639\u064e\u0627\u0621<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-JGnIfrCy4dzIgvcKKeBcbVDTnDd\">Rabbana Wa Taqabbal Dua<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-A7qLfoLiKdKrTJcDf0Vc9mJ0nOe\">English Meaning: Our Lord, and accept my supplication.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Bq32fvOckd3jmdc55HncMLVLnNg\">It does not get any simpler than this dua.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-KXQyfeYPpdLVfxcArvTcxXA4nUg\">Here are different translations of this ayat:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-W42nfGimQd73lWcqYtecXm3wn4e\">Our Lord! And accept my prayer.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-SO5VfHiSYdw6C9cQZ0rcdQC6nyf\">Our Lord! And accept my invocation.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-LOPRfjezddarrzcrHAKcvOH3nNd\">O our Lord! And accept Thou my Prayer.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-XR0NfSLm2duK5gcJskDcK1p8n9f\">Our Lord, grant my prayer.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-ZGnAfVxOQduhjHcBy0Kcaqu2n3b\">Do accept, our Lord, this prayer of mine.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-BmkJfyerwdZN2ZcEccvcx7jqnZc\">Our Lord! Accept my prayers.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-ROzSfxpJadw2yFcbRXtcnKAEnNe\">A fool lives to eat, whereas a wise man eats to live. But this leaves an unanswered question: for what purpose? Simply living is not the end in itself; there must be a purpose to live for.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-SF68fqd1xdIsiyca94bcPBpBnxd\">To a non-believer, human existence can seem ironic: we have one instinct\u2014to survive\u2014and there\u2019s only one guarantee in life\u2014we won\u2019t.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-WH91fZjLedkwMQc4hjjctDYwn8Y\">For those who read the Quran and strive to understand it, clarity, guidance, and purpose will follow. For instance, in the Quran, Surah Imran, Ayat 185:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-BeWmfrUVqdT8PpcplYPcDYeAnth\">\u201cEvery soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-UXtmfHv1QdnaPmcYiyrc3GyInF0\">It becomes clear: this life should be spent living righteously. The Quran and Hadith provide us with complete guidance\u2014a blueprint for how we ought to conduct our lives. They offer insight into the moral character we should embody if we wish to attain Paradise. They teach us to care, to love, to give charity to the poor, to pray, to fast, to be humble, and to be grateful.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-FmNcfI8TJdrdRDcgWs5crxTyneh\">This world was not created by accident, and we were not sent here without a purpose\u2014and it is for this reason that this rabbana dua was revealed.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-GyavfiDmDdS9CFcbLJ3cMcognJh\">Rabbana ma khalaqta haza bathila full dua with translation:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-OjGJfjb9IdfXfTc4JV3cGxZLnXc\">\u0631\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0651\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u062e\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0642\u0652\u062a\u064e \u0647\u064e\u0630\u0627 \u0628\u064e\u0627\u0637\u0650\u0644\u0627\u064b \u0633\u064f\u0628\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e\u0643\u064e \u0641\u064e\u0642\u0650\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0627\u0628\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u064e\u0651\u0627\u0631\u0650<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-QegVf6qKadb2Doc81I6cT03wn4f\">Rabbana ma khalaqa haza bathila subhanaka faqina adhaban-Naar<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-TSz6ffGJcdnAWDc7Yq1cWbw4noc\">Meaning: Our Lord! You have not created this in vain. Glory to You! Save us, then, from the chastisement of the Fire.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Wbidfm4WSd6G2scIofjcofFjn6g\">Surah Imran 191<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-KOomfK5FhdRGohclkl3cOSTjnve\">The full translation of Surah Imran, Ayah 191 is:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-UVX4fiBy8dNIKrcs5KYcepMGnOd\">[1] Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], [2] \u201cOur Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; [3] then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-UoNVfl6FJdkncqc60YPcjHM2nth\">[1] Allah mentions those who constantly remember Him in all their deeds\u2014whether standing, sitting, or lying down (the \u201con their sides\u201d referenced here). Standing might refer to remembering Allah while traveling to work, school, or going about daily errands. When finally able to rest by sitting, they still keep Allah in mind; and at the end of the day, before falling asleep, they remember Him.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-LVxwfKmvtdSuOScB1Jvc6lONnUU\">This ayah depicts individuals for whom everything becomes a reminder of Allah. If you take a moment to pause, look out the window at the sky, the clouds, or nature, you can\u2019t help but be amazed. Even the complexity of human civilization serves as a reminder to worship Allah.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-ZPoRfXMP8ds5ddcuGsfcmeTTnbn\">[2] Through all these signs of the Creator, one can arrive at the truth. Merely being an observer allows you to recognize that there must be something greater. The phenomena of the universe could not exist without a God.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Je2Tf7qqNdP6bbcf87EctRNOnmg\">[3] Once a person sees the order of the universe, they realize that the Creator would not have bestowed wisdom, moral conscience, and free will upon humans only to let them roam without repercussions for their actions. This deep reflection leads them to understand that they will be accountable for their deeds in the Hereafter. This conviction drives them to seek refuge in Allah, asking for protection from \u201cthe punishment of the Fire.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-G24jfaFlqdoH9JcfH1ic0N9unvf\">In Surah Baqarah, near Ayat 250, the account of the battle between Talut and Jalut (Talut is the Arabic term for Saul, the king of Israel) reaches its conclusion.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-M0POfoVlqdMJt3cyr3pclboJnae\">If you&#8217;re not familiar with the story: Talut wanted to test his people\u2019s discipline and ability to follow instructions before advancing into battle. So he told them, \u201cAllah will test you with a river\u2014do not drink from it.\u201d Only a few obeyed his order, and these were the ones who continued marching with Talut.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-ZTjifx5RNd62NNcG49ocCaDJnbb\">The English translation of Surah Baqarah, Ayat 249 reads:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-TqU4fNBLJdZ3MrcwaVUcFRa1nRd\">\u201cAnd when Saul went forth with the soldiers, he said, \u2018Indeed, Allah will be testing you with a river. So whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it is indeed of me, excepting one who takes [from it] in the hollow of his hand.\u2019 But they drank from it, except a [very] few of them.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Xz3Lfb8S7dt2NHcuFgycWnStnTg\">After their army crossed the water and stood before Jalut (Goliath), they saw they were vastly outnumbered. From a distance, the enemy appeared as a single row, making it impossible to gauge their true size. But as they drew closer, they could not see the end of the opposing army\u2014it seemed to grow larger and larger the nearer they got.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-PiqAfTTa2dkKaTcqEYCcq0Q5nCf\">The continuation of Ayat 249 states:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-YAeDfTI3Ld965Gc9wUIcr2r3ndh\">\u201cThen when he had crossed it along with those who believed with him, they said, \u2018There is no power for us today against Goliath and his soldiers.\u2019 But those who were certain that they would meet Allah said, \u2018How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the patient.\u2019\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-HPF4fB8Zgdx5j1cCDZTcQpLPnHd\">By this point, the water test for training was complete. They had crossed the river and now faced Goliath\u2019s massive army. Instead of turning back, they summoned courage by reciting the dua revealed in Surah Baqarah, Ayat 250 before entering the battle.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-LxuUflOuWd5fYdcbs0tc7SxtnLs\">Rabbana afrigh alayna sabran Full Dua With Meaning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-WLs4f5E1Ude9K6cwkPocg2LDnth\">In Arabic, this dua for sabr (patience) is found in Surah Baqarah, Ayat 250:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-KmLUfk4hZdBxPDc5SpmclEgInKf\">\u0631\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0651\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0631\u0650\u063a\u0652 \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0635\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0631\u0627\u064b \u0648\u064e\u062b\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651\u062a\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0642\u0652\u062f\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0646\u0635\u064f\u0631\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0642\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0643\u064e\u0627\u0641\u0650\u0631\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-SqCNfSSetdx49scrEXYctwrMnZ7\">Rabbana afrigh alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna alal-qawmil-kafirin<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Y1EcfruDXdrtqicsYhScZERynpg\">English Meaning: Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-LUN2f6K7EddBYpcLUyjcvaC8njv\">The beauty of this dua lies in its request for Allah to drench us in sabr\u2014to completely pour forth patience upon us. As mentioned in Ayat 249, Allah is with those who possess sabr, and a small army supported by Allah can overcome a larger one.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-BU5BfqkfPdTdGMcWtJ6cXt10nHc\">The dua then goes on to ask Allah to \u201cplant our feet firmly,\u201d which can be interpreted as a plea for strength, bravery, and courage\u2014all essential qualities for confronting the enemy, standing one\u2019s ground, and not being easily swayed. A solid foundation requires stability; without it, one would easily topple and be trampled upon. Thus, we pray to Allah: \u201cPlant firmly our feet.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-YLnKfnRYydRcgQcykRFcD7CCneh\">The final request in the dua is for victory\u2014specifically, victory over the disbelieving people, in this case, Jalut\u2019s forces. Ayat 251 concludes the outcome of the battle:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-DeL9fz20UdeF7qcyZaKcrg7tnXb\">\u201cSo they defeated them by permission of Allah, and David killed Goliath, and Allah gave him the kingship and prophethood and taught him from that which He willed. And if it were not for Allah checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of bounty to the worlds.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-S9MKf5zC7dTXticBHoMck0yNnrc\">As the saying goes, you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Ptv9fOA5Ld5YVZchSdNcV3OanPc\">People tend to nurture relationships with those who are most like them.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Q0zqfwAZIdqJO8cvgMwcBFlynFh\">If you want to achieve success in this dunya (worldly life) and the akhirah (hereafter), you must get this one thing right: surround yourself with people who share the same ambitions and goals, and you\u2019ll increase the likelihood of success.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-NeEgfvrtod5y9Sc8VhDcKEvpnN1\">The Quran echoes a similar sentiment in Surah Anfal, Ayat 58:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-NuItfWGuqdTxMTclEmtcUx1VnFb\">\u201cAnd if you fear treachery from a people, break off (the covenant) with them in like manner. Verily Allah does not like the treacherous.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-LE70f2MhEdGx5HcWuUNcntv4nag\">Be mindful of who you let into your inner circle. But does this mean you should only associate with those who are better than you to elevate yourself? Isn\u2019t that selfish? What if the other person needs help?<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Ng7uffLbRdPsSScnkUZcIb16nob\">We should dedicate a portion of our friendships to those who are on the wrong path. We ought to try to help them and inform them of their mistakes. However, if these people are toxic and unresponsive to your explanations, it may be time to cut ties. Our life on this earth is fleeting, and we cannot afford to let others hold us back.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-FGJRfXzVSd4Xy0cSbGDcVQBinVf\">I hope we can agree on this. If you have opposing views, please feel free to comment below.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-UA1zfC9MQdUgE1cWmUAcG5cknTh\">There is also mention in the Hadith of a dua that can be recited whenever you feel afraid or wish to seek protection from others.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-JCODf1rgddwdH7cqDn6cxrqDnLg\">Allahumma inna naj\u2019aluka fi nuhurihim Dua in Arabic and English:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-O0G0fPOnYdSGU6czeM8cA9BTnVd\">This dua in Arabic is as follows:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-BWn8fkbBAdYmbLcLjLhcHpvwnJe\">\u0627\u064e\u0644\u0644\u0651\u0670\u0647\u064f\u0645\u064e\u0651 \u0625\u0646\u064e\u0651\u0627 \u0646\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064f\u0643\u064e \u0641\u0650\u064a\u0652 \u0646\u064f\u062d\u064f\u0648\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0647\u0650\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0630\u064f \u0628\u0650\u0643\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652 \u0634\u064f\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0631\u0650\u0647\u0650\u0645\u0652<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-TKr7fPEZedI31Kc3ho0cXwkKn2b\">Transliteration: Allahumma inna naj\u2019aluka fi nuhurihim wa na\u2019udhu bika min shururihim<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-H6BofKHJydP0GFcvTmwcIZkBnxg\">English Meaning: O Allah, we make Thee our shield against them, and take refuge in Thee from their evils.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-BCRBfbBpNdQMAjcO2Plcb1ntngb\">This dua was narrated by Abu Musa al-Ash\u2019ari. It is said that when the Prophet (\ufdfa) feared a group of people, he would recite this dua.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-Y69sfkFM9dMawgcoz5acrrdCnhc\">Benefit of Reciting This Dua:<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-HDgrfgbnDdPhDvc0VxJc3kgHn6b\">This dua should be recited whenever you fear someone. It asks Allah to protect you and shield you from them.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-CTnSfkIJkd9AbtcHVnHckoIRnwh\">Remember: you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. It may be a hard truth to accept, but if you are unhappy with your current circle, you must take a deep look at yourself. Only through self-reflection and awareness can you correct your current path.<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line ace-line old-record-id-HCiZfkvJ8dOKDhcrZXTcE7JWnRc\">Do not let just anyone enter your life\u2014be selective and choose the best.
