Why Do We Make Dua?<\/h2>\n
Dua (supplication) is one of a believer\u2019s most powerful tools\u2014a means to connect with Allah (subhanahu wa ta\u2019ala) and seek His guidance, mercy, and blessings. While accepting Allah\u2019s decree (both good and bad) is a virtue, it does not negate the importance of daily supplication. The Prophet Muhammad (\ufdfa) taught us the transformative power of dua through his own prayers, such as:<\/p>\n

\u201cO Allah, guide me among those You have guided, pardon me among those You have pardoned, befriend me among those You have befriended, bless me in what You have granted, and save me from the evil that You decreed. Indeed, You decree, and none can pass a decree against You. Indeed, he is not humiliated whom You have befriended. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted.\u201d<\/em><\/div>\n

Dua allows us to seek protection from hardship, ease in difficulty, and the refinement of our destiny through Allah\u2019s mercy and our righteous deeds. It is the simplest way to communicate with our Creator\u2014Allah (swt) reminds us in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186):\u00a0\u201cWhen My servants ask you about Me, (tell them), I am really close to them. I listen to the prayer of each supplicant when he invokes Me.\u201d<\/em><\/div>\n

What Are the Rabbana Duas?<\/h2>\n
In the Quran, there are 40 sacred duas that begin with the Arabic word\u00a0Rabbana<\/strong>\u00a0(\u0631\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0651\u0646\u064e\u0627), meaning \u201cOur Lord.\u201d These supplications cover a range of needs\u2014forgiveness, wealth, success, protection, guidance, and more\u2014and are among the most beloved and powerful Quranic prayers for believers to learn, memorize, and recite.<\/div>\n

Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. And protect them from the evil consequences [of their deeds]. And he whom You protect from evil consequences that Day \u2013 You will have given him mercy. And that is the great attainment.\u201d<\/li>\n
