Transliteration:<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana Abduka, wa ana ala ahdika wa wadika mastatatu, Audhu bika min Sharri ma sanatu, abu’u Laka binimatika `alaiya, wa abu’u laka bidhanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta<\/div>\n

English Translation:<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cO Allah, You are my Lord. You created me, and I am Your slave. I will remain faithful to Your covenant and promise as much as possible. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I admit my sin. So, forgive me. Indeed, none can forgive sins but You.\u201d<\/div>\n

Guidance from the Prophet \ufdfa<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
The Prophet \ufdfa taught that this supplication is the most superior way to ask for Allah\u2019s forgiveness. He emphasized its immense blessing, stating:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • \u201cIf somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • \u201cIf somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      The Prophet \ufdfa himself sought Allah\u2019s forgiveness more than seventy times a day\u2014a powerful example of how repentance should be a constant, heartfelt practice for believers. Even those guaranteed Jannah strive for frequent forgiveness, reminding us that no one is free from the need to turn to Allah in repentance.<\/div>\n
      \n

      How to Supplicate for Forgiveness<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
      Repentance should not be limited to specific times\u2014whenever you remember Allah, seek His forgiveness sincerely. When supplicating:<\/div>\n
        \n
      • Be firm and resolute in your request. The Prophet \ufdfa advised: \u201cWhen one of you makes supplication, he should supplicate with a will and should not say: \u2018O Allah, confer upon me if Thou likest,\u2019 for there is none to coerce Allah.\u201d Avoid phrases that question Allah\u2019s ability to forgive (e.g., \u201cif You can\u201d or \u201cif You\u2019re able\u201d), as they undermine the certainty of His mercy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Embrace the simple yet powerful invocation \u201cAstaghfirullah\u201d (\u201cI seek forgiveness from Allah\u201d) as a regular part of your dhikr.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n

          Quranic Guidance on Forgiveness<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
          Allah\u2019s mercy is boundless, and He loves those who repent and do good. As stated in Surah Al Imran:<\/div>\n
          \u201cThe believers are those who spend in charity during ease and hardship and who restrain their anger and pardon the people, for Allah loves the doers of good.\u201d (3:134)<\/div>\n
          A key truth: Be merciful to others, and Allah will show you mercy. Forgive those who wrong you, and Allah will forgive your sins.<\/div>\n
          \n

          Other Authentic Duas for Forgiveness<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
          From the sunnah, we have additional heartfelt supplications for repentance:<\/div>\n
            \n
          1. Narrated from \u2018Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): Prior to his demise, the Prophet \ufdfa frequently supplicated: \u201cSubhan Allahi wa bihamdihi; Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilaihi.\u201d (Translation: \u201cAllah is free from imperfection, and I begin with praising Him. I beg forgiveness from Allah and I turn to Him in repentance.\u201d)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
              \n
            1. Narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): We heard the Prophet \ufdfa say a hundred times in one sitting: \u201cRabb-ighfir li, wa tubb alayya, innaka Antat-Tawwabur-Rahim.\u201d (Translation: \u201cMy Lord! Forgive me and pardon me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning with compassion and Ever Merciful.\u201d)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
