Protection <\/strong>means: the act of protecting somebody\/something; the state of being protected<\/em>.

\nReligion <\/strong>means: the belief in the existence of a god, and the activities that are connected with the worship of them, or in the teachings of a spiritual leader<\/em>.
\n[Oxford Advanced Learner\u2019s Dictionary, p:1263]<\/p>\n

The word \u201cdeen<\/strong>\u201c<\/em> in Arabic means \u2018religion<\/em>\u2018 in its most general sense, the plural of which is Adyaan<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Allah said:
\n \u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0639\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062f\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0625\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0627\u0645<\/code><\/p>\n

\u201cTruly, the religion with Allah is Islam\u201d. [Qur\u2019an 3:19].<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cal-Deen\u201d<\/em> (The Religion) then the intended meaning is the religion of Islam. As Allah says in the Qur\u2019an \u201cVerily, the religion (al-Deen) with God is Islam\u201d<\/em> [Qur\u2019an 3:19].<\/p>\n

How to protect the religion?<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Belief in the Foundations of the Religion:<\/h2>\n

\u2018Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) said:
\nOnce we were sitting in the company of Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) when there appeared a man dressed in very white clothes and having extraordinary black hair. No signs of fatigue of journey appeared on him and he was known to none of us. He sat down facing the Prophet (\ufdfa) leaning his knees against the knees of the Prophet (\ufdfa) and placing both of his palms over his two thighs and said, \u201cO Muhammad (\ufdfa)! Tell me about Islam\u201d. He (\ufdfa) replied, \u201cIslam is to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad (\ufdfa) is the Messenger of Allah; that you observe Salat (prayers), pay Zakat, observe Saum (fasting) of Ramadan and perform Hajj (pilgrimage) of the House, provided you have resources of making journey to it.\u201d He replied: \u201cYou have spoken the truth.\u201d We were surprised to see that he had asked him and confirmed the correctness of the answers. He then enquired: \u201cTell me about Iman.\u201d He (\ufdfa) said: \u201cIt is to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers and the Last Day and that you believe in preordainment (destiny), its bad and good consequences.\u201d He said, \u201cYou have spoken the truth.\u201d He then enquired: \u201cTell me about Ihsan.\u201d He (\ufdfa) said, \u201cIt is to worship Allah as if you are seeing Him\u2026.\u201d [Muslim, Hadith 60]<\/p>\n

2. Adherence to the Foundations of Worship:<\/h2>\n

It is narrated on the authority of \u2018Abdullah son of \u2018Umar that the Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said:(The superstructure of) al-Islam is raised on five (pillars), testifying (the fact) that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is His bondsman and messenger, and the establishment of prayer, payment of Zakat, Pilgrimage to the House (Ka\u2019ba) and the fast of Ramadan.\u201d [Muslim, Hadith 21]<\/p>\n

3. Seeking Knowledge:<\/h2>\n

Allah said \u201c: say: \u201cMy Lord! Increase me in knowledge.\u201d [Qur\u2019an 20:114]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said:\u201dSeeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim\u201d [Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 224]. <\/em><\/p>\n

4. Teaching the religion:<\/h2>\n

We are encouraged to spread the teachings of God\u2019s final revelation by word and by deed.

Allah said: \u201cInvite (mankind, O Muhammad SAW) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Quran) and fair preaching\u201d. [ Qur\u2019an 16:125].<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet ((\ufdfa) said, \u201cBeware of sitting on roads (ways).\u201d The people said: \u201cWe have but them as sitting places.\u201d Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said, \u201cIf you have to sit there, then observe the rights of the way\u201d. They asked, \u201cWhat are the rights of the way?\u201d He (\ufdfa) said, \u201cTo lower your gaze (on seeing what is illegal to look at), and (removal of harmful objects), returning greetings, enjoining good and forbidding wrong\u201d.<\/em>
\n [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. <\/em><\/p>\n

5. Defending of Islam:<\/h2>\n

Nu`man bin Bashir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (\ufdfa) said, \u201cThe likeness of the man who observes the limits prescribed by Allah and that of the man who transgresses them is like the people who get on board a ship after casting lots. Some of them are in its lower deck and some of them in its upper (deck). Those who are in its lower (deck), when they require water, go to the occupants of the upper deck, and say to them : `If we make a hole in the bottom of the ship, we shall not harm you.\u2019 If they (the occupants of the upper deck) leave them to carry out their design they all will be drowned. But if they do not let them go ahead (with their plan), all of them will remain safe\u201d. [Al-Bukhari, Hadith 187]. <\/em><\/p>\n

We learn from this Hadith that the consequences of committing acts which are forbidden in Islam.<\/p>\n

Preserving Islam is by learning it, teaching it, spreading it and defending it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
