God says in Qur\u2019an:<\/p>\n
They ask you \u02f9O Prophet\u02fa about the spirit. Say, \u201cIts nature is known only to my Lord, and you \u02f9O humanity\u02fa have been given but little knowledge.\u201d<\/strong> [Qur\u2019an 17-85] (1)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The soul is a special creature; you can not see it but can feel it. Allah (God) and His Prophet Muhammad have told us little information about it, but only Allah knows all about it. Now, let\u2019s see\u2026<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
What Is the Soul?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Abu Huraira reported Allah\u2019s Messenger (\ufdfa) Saying:<\/p>\n
Souls are troops collected together and those who familiarised with each other (in the heaven from where these come) would have affinity, with one another (in the world) and those amongst them who opposed each other (in the Heaven) would also be divergent (in the world).\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0[Sahih Muslim](2)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The soul is a creature with a special nature, Allah created it after the creation of Adam\u2019s body then put the soul inside Adam\u2019s body.<\/p>\n
Remember, O \u00a0Prophet\u02fa when your Lord said to the angels, \u201cI am going to create a human being from sounding clay moulded from black mud.So when I have fashioned him and had a spirit of My Own \u02f9creation\u02fa breathed into him, fall down in prostration to him.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0[Qur\u2019an 15- 28:29] (3)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Conditions of the Soul\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n
And by the soul and \u02f9the One\u02fa Who fashioned it, then with \u02f9the knowledge of\u02fa right and wrong inspired it! Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul.\u201d <\/strong>[Qur\u2019an 91- 7:10] (4)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
There are Three Conditions for the Soul in the<\/strong> Human Body:<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\u2013 The soul is a persistent enjoiner of evil:<\/p>\n
.. indeed the soul is ever inclined to evil..\u201d<\/strong> \u00a0[Qur\u2019an 12- 53] (5)
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\u2013 The reproaching soul:<\/p>\n
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].\u201d<\/strong> \u00a0[Qur\u2019an 75- 2] (6)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u2013 The reassured soul:<\/p>\n
\u02f9Allah will say to the righteous,\u02fa \u201cO tranquil soul! Return to your Lord, Return to your Lord, well pleased \u02f9with Him\u02fa and well pleasing \u02f9to Him\u02fa.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 [Qur\u2019an 89- 27:28] (7)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
What Are the Secrets of the Soul?<\/b><\/h2>\n
-The soul is the secret of the life of the human body; when it leaves the body, the body dies.<\/p>\n
-Souls don\u2019t die. Allah has created them until the Hereafter.<\/p>\n
The Soul Associates with the Human Body in Five Conditions:<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\n
- With the fetus in its mother\u2019s womb.<\/li>\n
- After birth in this worldly life.<\/li>\n
- During sleeping, it becomes between the association and leaving.<\/li>\n
- After the death in barrier life.<\/li>\n
- In the Hereafter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\u2013 Worldly life. The barrier of life. The Hereafter<\/p>\n
*In this worldly life the soul becomes a follower to the body where it becomes a good soul or a bad soul.<\/p>\n
*In the barrier life ( the life between the worldly life and the Hereafter), the body becomes a follower to the soul where soul if goodwill rewards or if bad will punishment.<\/p>\n
*In the hereafter life both body and soul are finally combined together again to take the final account paradise or hell.<\/p>\n
Soul after Death\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n
The soul leaves the body in two conditions:<\/p>\n
\n
- During sleeping:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
\u02f9It is\u02fa Allah \u02f9Who\u02fa calls back the souls \u02f9of people\u02fa upon their death as well as \u02f9the souls\u02fa of the living during their sleep. Then He keeps those for whom He has ordained death, and releases the others until \u02f9their\u02fa appointed time. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.\u201d <\/strong>[Qur\u2019an 39- 42] (8)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u00a0 2. At death:<\/strong><\/p>\n
The soul leaves the body at death and returns to it when the two Angels of grave ask him about:<\/p>\n
-Who is your God?<\/p>\n
-Who is your prophet?<\/p>\n
-What is your religion?<\/p>\n
Then the soul may be raised to the sky or imprisoned in the earth according to the deeds of its companion.<\/p>\n
Prophet Muhammad described what he saw at the night of Al-Israa\u2019 and Al-Mi\u2019raaj (miraculous night journey of the Prophet (PBUH) to Jerusalem then to the heavens):<\/p>\n
when I reached the nearest heaven, Gabriel said to the gatekeeper of the heaven, \u2018Open (the gate).\u2019 The gatekeeper asked, \u2018Who is it?\u2019 Gabriel answered: \u2018Gabriel.\u2019 He asked, \u2018Is there anyone with you?\u2019 Gabriel replied, \u2018Yes, Muhammad I is with me.\u2019 He asked, \u2018Has he been called?\u2019 Gabriel said, \u2018Yes.\u2019 So the gate was opened and we went over the nearest heaven and there we saw a man sitting with some people on his right and some on his left. When he looked towards his right, he laughed and when he looked toward his left he wept.\u201d <\/strong>[AlBukhari](9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u00a0Soul Reward or Punishment<\/h2>\n
After the death of the body, souls start a new life called the barrier life. In this life, the soul may be rewarded or punished according to its deeds.<\/p>\n
The souls which are rewarded can visit each other and remember what was done in the worldly life, can hear the speech of the visitors but visitors cannot hear them. Souls cannot benefit themselves or others and the prayers of people for them reach and benefit them.<\/p>\n
Umar said: Allah\u2019s Messenger (\ufdfa) showed us one day before (the actual battle) the place of death of the people (participating) in (the Battle) of Badr and he was saying:<\/p>\n
This would be the place of death of so and so tomorrow, if Allah wills. Umar said: By Him Who sent him with truth, they did not miss the places (of their death) which Allah\u2019s Messenger (\ufdfa) had pointed for them. Then they were all thrown in a well one after another. Allah\u2019s Messenger (\ufdfa) then went to them and said: O, so and so, the son of so and so; O so and so, the son of so and so, have you found correct what Allah and His Messenger had promised you? I have, however, found absolutely true what Allah had promised with me.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Umar said: Allah\u2019s Messenger, how are you talking with the bodies without soul in them. Thereupon he said: You cannot hear more distinctly than (their hearing) of what I say, but with this exception that they have not power to make any reply.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>[Sahih Muslim](10)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Souls who get punished become in suffering until their punishment finishes, either in the barrier life or in the Hereafter in hell, each one according to his\/her deeds in worldly life.<\/p>\n
Conclusion<\/h2>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Finally<\/strong>, Allah, our God, tells us the secret of how to make our souls rewarding in this world life or in barrier life or in hereafter life :<\/p>\n
And as for those who were in awe of standing before their Lord and restrained themselves from \u02f9evil\u02fa desires, Paradise will certainly be \u02f9their\u02fa home.\u201d <\/strong>[Qur\u2019an 79- 40:41] (11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
