[4]<br>In 3000 BC, Bahrain had already established a city, and in ancient literature from the Mesopotamian region, Bahrain was referred to as &#8220;Dilmon&#8221;. Bahrain is the birthplace of the ancient Dilmun civilization. [5] The Phoenicians arrived here in 1000 BC, and in the 7th century AD, Bahrain became part of the Arab Empire and was under the jurisdiction of the province of Basra. [3] From 1507 to 1602, it was occupied by the Portuguese. From 1602 to 1782, it was under the rule of the Persian Empire. In 1783, independence was declared. In March 1971, Britain announced that all treaties it had signed with the Persian Gulf emirates would terminate at the end of the same year. On August 15, 1971, Bahrain declared independence and established the State of Bahrain. In 2002, Bahrain announced the establishment of an Islamic constitutional monarchy and renamed it the Kingdom of Bahrain.
