The Federal Republic of Nigeria, abbreviated as Nigeria, is a country located at 6 \u00b0 27’N, 3 \u00b0 24’E in southeastern West Africa, at the apex of the west coast of the Gulf of Guinea. Its neighboring countries include Benin to the west, Niger to the north, Chad across Lake Chad to the northeast, Cameroon to the east and southeast, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. It has a land area of 923768 square kilometers and a population of 227 million (as of 2024), with over 250 ethnic groups. Nigeria is an ancient civilization in Africa. In the 8th century AD, the Zaghawa nomadic tribe established the Kanem Bornu kingdom around Lake Chad, which lasted for over a thousand years.
