All\u0101humma inn\u012b a\u02bf\u016bdhu bika min-l-hammi wa-l-\u1e25azan, wa a\u02bf\u016bdhu bika min-l-\u02bfajzi wa-l-kasal, wa a\u02bf\u016bdhu bika min-l-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa a\u02bf\u016bdhu bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rij\u0101l.<\/sup><\/sub><\/p>\n

\u201cO Allah, I seek Your protection from anxiety and grief. I seek Your protection from inability and laziness. I seek Your protection from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek Your protection from being overcome by debt and being overpowered by men.\u201d<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

Ab\u016b Sa\u02bf\u012bd al-Khudr\u012b (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u02bfanhu) narrated that one day, the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa entered the masjid. He saw a man from the An\u1e63\u0101r called Ab\u016b Um\u0101mah (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u02bfanhu). He \ufdfa asked, \u201cWhat is the matter? Why are you sitting in the mosque when it is not the time for prayer?\u201d He replied, \u201cNever-ending worries and debts, O Messenger of Allah.\u201d The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa then asked, \u201cShall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah will remove your worries, and settle your debts?\u201d He replied, \u201cYes of course, O Messenger of Allah.\u201d He \ufdfa said, \u201cSay in the morning and evening [the above].\u201d Ab\u016b Um\u0101mah (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u02bfanhu) said, \u201cThen I did that, and Allah removed my worries and settled my debts.\u201d\u00a0(Ab\u016b D\u0101w\u016bd 1555)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cO Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the next. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, in my worldly affairs, in my family and in my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, guard me from in front of me and behind me, from my right, and from my left, and from above me. I seek protection in Your Greatness from being unexpectedly destroyed from beneath me.\u201d<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

\u201cAllah is sufficient for me. There is no god worthy of worship except Him. I have placed my trust in Him only and He is the Lord of the Magnificent Throne.\u201d<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

Ab\u016b al-Dard\u0101\u2019 (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u02bfanhu) narrates from the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa that he said: \u201cWhoever recites [the above] seven times in the morning and in the evening, Allah will suffice him in everything that concerns him in matters of this world and the next.\u201d\u00a0(Ibn al-Sunn\u012b 71)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cO Allah, I seek Your protection from the anguish of the world and the anguish of the Day of Judgement.\u201d<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

Shar\u012bq al-Hawza\u0304n\u012b (ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h) narrates that I entered upon Aisha (rad\u0323iy Alla\u0304hu \u2018anha\u0304) and I asked her: \u201cWith which supplication did the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa begin his Sala\u0304h when he woke up at night?\u201d She replied: \u201cYou have asked me regarding something which no one has asked me before.\u201d When he woke up at night, he uttered: Alla\u0304hu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) ten times, and uttered Al\u1e25amdullill\u0101h (All praise be to Allah) ten times, and said Sub\u1e25\u0101na-ll\u0101hi wa bi \u1e25amdih. (Allah is free from imperfection, and all praise is due to Him.) ten times, and said: Sub\u1e25\u0101nal Malik al-Qudd\u016bs (How perfect is the Sovereign, the Most Holy) ten times, and asked Allah\u2019s forgiveness ten times, and said: \u201cThere is no god but Allah\u201d ten times, and then said: [the above] ten times. He then began the Sala\u0304h.\u00a0(Ab\u016b D\u0101w\u016bd 5085)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anas b. M\u0101lik (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u02bfanhu) narrates that the Prophet \ufdfa said to F\u0101\u1e6dimah (rad\u0323iy Alla\u0304hu \u02bfanha\u0304), \u201cWhat is preventing you from (doing) what I am advising you; that you say [the above] in the morning and evening?\u201d\u00a0(Nas\u0101\u2019\u012b in \u02bfAmal al-Yawm wa-l-Laylah 570)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cO Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of Your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). I am subject to Your judgement and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You \u2013 by every name that is Yours, by which You have named Yourself, or taught any one of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You \u2013 to make the Qur\u2019\u0101n the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief and the reliever of my anxiety.\u201d<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said: \u201cThere is no one amongst you who, when he is stricken with grief and anxiety, says [the above] except that Allah will remove his grief and anxiety, and will give him joy instead.\u201d The companions said, \u2018O Messenger of Allah, should we not learn these words?\u2019 He \ufdfa replied, \u2018Of course!
