In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.\r\nA. L. M.\r\n(This is) the Revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt,- from the Lord of the Worlds.\r\nOr do they say, \"He has forged it\"? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance.\r\nIt is Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth, and all between them, in six Days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority): ye have none, besides Him, to protect or intercede (for you): will ye not then receive admonition?\r\nHe rules (all) affairs from the heavens to the earth: in the end will (all affairs) go up to Him, on a Day, the space whereof will be (as) a thousand years of your reckoning.\r\nSuch is He, the Knower of all things, hidden and open, the Exalted (in power), the Merciful;-\r\nHe Who has made everything which He has created most good: He began the creation of man with (nothing more than) clay,\r\nAnd made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised:\r\nBut He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of His spirit. And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding): little thanks do ye give!\r\nAnd they say: \"What! when we lie, hidden and lost, in the earth, shall we indeed be in a Creation renewed? Nay, they deny the Meeting with their Lord.\r\nSay: \"The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls: then shall ye be brought back to your Lord.\"\r\nIf only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) \"Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe.\"\r\nIf We had so willed, We could certainly have brought every soul its true guidance: but the Word from Me will come true, \"I will fill Hell with Jinns and men all together.\"\r\n\"Taste ye then - for ye forgot the Meeting of this Day of yours, and We too will forget you - taste ye the Penalty of Eternity for your (evil) deeds!\"\r\nOnly those believe in Our Signs, who, when they are recited to them, fall down in prostration, and celebrate the praises of their Lord, nor are they (ever) puffed up with pride.\r\nTheir limbs do forsake their beds of sleep, the while they call on their Lord, in Fear and Hope: and they spend (in charity) out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on them.\r\nNow no person knows what delights of the eye are kept hidden (in reserve) for them - as a reward for their (good) deeds.\r\nIs then the man who believes no better than the man who is rebellious and wicked? Not equal are they.\r\nFor those who believe and do righteous deeds are Gardens as hospitable homes, for their (good) deeds.\r\nAs to those who are rebellious and wicked, their abode will be the Fire: every time they wish to get away therefrom, they will be forced thereinto, and it will be said to them: \"Taste ye the Penalty of the Fire, the which ye were wont to reject as false.\"\r\nAnd indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return.\r\nAnd who does more wrong than one to whom are recited the Signs of his Lord, and who then turns away therefrom? Verily from those who transgress We shall exact (due) Retribution.\r\nWe did indeed aforetime give the Book to Moses: be not then in doubt of its reaching (thee): and We made it a guide to the Children of Israel.\r\nAnd We appointed, from among them, leaders, giving guidance under Our command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued to have faith in Our Signs.\r\nVerily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, in the matters wherein they differ (among themselves)\r\nDoes it not teach them a lesson, how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they (now) go to and fro? Verily in that are Signs: Do they not then listen?\r\nAnd do they not see that We do drive rain to parched soil (bare of herbage), and produce therewith crops, providing food for their cattle and themselves? Have they not the vision?\r\nThey say: \"When will this decision be, if ye are telling the truth?\"\r\nSay: \"On the Day of Decision, no profit will it be to Unbelievers if they (then) believe! nor will they be granted a respite.\"\r\nSo turn away from them, and wait: they too are waiting.<\/pre>\n

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.\r\nBlessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;-\r\nHe Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;-\r\nHe Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: sees thou any flaw?\r\nAgain turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out.\r\nAnd we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.\r\nFor those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination.\r\nWhen they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth,\r\nAlmost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, \"Did no Warner come to you?\"\r\nThey will say: \"Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!\"\r\nThey will further say: \"Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!\"\r\nThey will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire!\r\nAs for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward.\r\nAnd whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts.\r\nShould He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them).\r\nIt is He Who has made the earth manageable for you, so traverse ye through its tracts and enjoy of the Sustenance which He furnishes: but unto Him is the Resurrection.\r\nDo ye feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not cause you to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes (as in an earthquake)?\r\nOr do ye feel secure that He Who is in Heaven will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones), so that ye shall know how (terrible) was My warning?\r\nBut indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)?\r\nDo they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.\r\nNay, who is there that can help you, (even as) an army, besides (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion are the Unbelievers.\r\nOr who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist in insolent impiety and flight (from the Truth).\r\nIs then one who walks headlong, with his face groveling, better guided,- or one who walks evenly on a Straight Way?\r\nSay: \"It is He Who has created you (and made you grow), and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give.\r\nSay: \"It is He Who has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered together.\"\r\nThey ask: When will this promise be (fulfilled)? - If ye are telling the truth.\r\nSay: \"As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allah alone: I am (sent) only to warn plainly in public.\"\r\nAt length, when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the Unbelievers, and it will be said (to them): \"This is (the promise fulfilled), which ye were calling for!\"\r\nSay: \"See ye?- If Allah were to destroy me, and those with me, or if He bestows His Mercy on us,- yet who can deliver the Unbelievers from a grievous Penalty?\"\r\nSay: \"He is (Allah) Most Gracious: We have believed in Him, and on Him have we put our trust: So, soon will ye know which (of us) it is that is in manifest error.\"\r\nSay: \"See ye?- If your stream be some morning lost (in the underground earth), who then can supply you with clear-flowing water?\"<\/pre>\n
The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa would not sleep until he had recited [the above two S\u016brahs].\u00a0(Tirmidh\u012b 3404)<\/strong><\/p>\n
The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said: \u201cA S\u016brah from the Qur\u2019\u0101n containing 30 verses will intercede for a man until he is forgiven. It is S\u016brah al-Mulk.\u201d\u00a0(Tirmidh\u012b 2891)<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u2018Abdull\u0101h ibn Mas\u2018\u016bd\u00a0(ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu)\u00a0narrated that whoever reads S\u016brah al-Mulk every night, Allah will protect him from the punishment of the grave. He said: \u201cAt the time of the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa, we used to call it \u2018al-m\u0101ni\u2018ah\u2019 (the protector). Indeed there is a S\u016brah in the Book of Allah [i.e. this S\u016brah]; whoever recites it every night has done very well.\u201d\u00a0(Nas\u0101\u2019\u012b in \u2018Amal al-Yawm wal-Laylah 711)<\/strong><\/p>\n

He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. Reference:-<\/strong>\u00a0Ubayy ibn Ka\u2018b\u00a0(ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu)\u00a0reported that he had a vessel in which he kept dates. He found that its quantity was decreasing. So he kept guard on it one night and saw a creature that resembled an adolescent boy. Ubayy greeted him and he returned his greeting. Ubayy then asked him: \u201cWhat are you, a jinn\u012b or a human?\u201d He replied: \u201cA jinn\u012b.\u201d So he said to him: \u201cShow me your hand.\u201d So he showed him his hand, and it looked like a dog\u2019s paw with dog\u2019s fur. He said: \u201cThis is how the jinn are created. The jinn know that there is no one amongst them who is stronger than me.\u201d Ubayy asked him: \u201cWhat made you come here?\u201d He replied: \u201cWe heard that you are a man who loves charity, and we came to take our share from your food.\u2019\u201d Ubayy asked him: \u201cWhat will protect us from you?\u201d He replied: \u201cReading \u0100yah al-Kurs\u012b from S\u016brah al-Baqarah [i.e. the verse above]. If you read it in the morning, you will be protected from us till the evening. And if you read it in the evening, you will be protected from us till the morning.\u201d Ubayy said: \u201cThe following morning, Ubayy went to the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa and told him about what had happened. We seek Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final destination.\u201d Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. \u201cOur Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. He \ufdfa said: \u2018Speak.\u2019 So I said: \u2018What should I say?\u2019\u00a0He \ufdfa said: \u201cRecite S\u016brah al-Ikhl\u0101s and al-Mu\u2019awwidhatayn (S\u016brah al-Falaq and S\u016brah al-N\u0101s) three times in the morning and the evening. Anas (radiy All\u0101h\u016b \u2018anhu) reported: \u201cThere was a man from the Ansar who led them (in Salah) at Masjid Quba. Every time he was to recite a Surah for them during Salah, he would begin by reciting S\u016brah al-Ikhl\u0101s until he finished, then he would recite another Surah with it. He did that in each Rak\u2019ah. His companions talked to him and said: \u2018You recite this Surah. You should either recite it or leave it and recite another Surah.\u2019\u201d He said: \u201cI shall not leave it, if you would like me to lead you with it then I shall do so, and if you do not like it then I shall leave you.\u201d And they considered him the best among them, and they did not like the idea of someone else leading them. So when the Prophet \ufdfa came to them they informed him about what had happened and he \ufdfa said: \u201cO so-and-so! What prevents you from doing what your companions told you to do, why do recite this Surah in every Rak\u2019ah\u201d\u00a0He said: \u2018O Messenger of Allah, I love S\u016brah al-Ikhl\u0101s.\u2019 He \ufdfa said: \u2018Your love for it will admit you into Paradise.\u2019\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(Tirmidh\u012b 2901)<\/p>\n

You are the First and there is nothing before You. You are the Last and there is nothing after You. You are the Most High and there is nothing above You. There is no power (in averting evil) or strength (in attaining good) except through Allah. Allah is free from imperfection, and all praise is for Allah. O Allah, I submit my soul unto You, and I entrust my affair unto You, and I turn my face towards You, and I totally rely on You, in hope and fear of You. Verily there is no refuge or safe haven from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.<\/pre>\n
The Messenger of Allah\u00a0\ufdfa\u00a0said: \u201cBefore you go to bed, perform wudh\u016b as you would for prayer, then lie down on your right side and say [the above].
