Anas b. M\u0101lik (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah\u00a0\ufdfa\u00a0said: \u201cThe screen between the jinn and the nakedness of the children of \u0100dam when they take off their garments is that they say [the above].\u201d\u00a0(Tabar\u0101n\u012b in Mu\u02bfjam al-Awsa\u1e6d 7066)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Al\u1e25amdu li-ll\u0101hi-l-ladh\u012b kas\u0101n\u012b h\u0101dha-th-thawb, wa razaqan\u012bhi min ghayri \u1e25awli-m-minn\u012b wa l\u0101 quwwah.<\/em><\/pre>\n
All praise is to Allah Who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, without any power or might from me.<\/pre>\n
Mu\u2019\u0101dh b. Anas (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu) narrated that the Prophet \ufdfa said:\u00a0\u201cIf anyone puts on a garment and says [the above], his past and future sins will be forgiven.\u201d\u00a0(Ab\u016b D\u0101w\u016bd 4023, Tirmidh\u012b 3458)<\/strong><\/p>\n

All\u0101humma laka-l-\u1e25amdu Anta kasawtan\u012bhi, as\u2019aluka min khayrihi wa khayri m\u0101 \u1e63uni\u02bfa lahu, wa a\u02bf\u016bdhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri m\u0101 \u1e63uni\u02bfa lahu.<\/em><\/pre>\n
O Allah, all praise is for You! as You have clothed me, I ask You for its good and the good of that for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of that for which it was made.<\/pre>\n
Ab\u016b Sa\u02bf\u012bd al-Khudhr\u012b\u00a0(ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu) reported that when the\u00a0Messenger of Allah \ufdfa put on clothes, he would name each item \u2013 whether it was a shirt, pair of trousers or turban \u2013 and say: [the above].\u00a0(Ab\u016b D\u0101w\u016bd 4020, Tirmidh\u012b 1767)<\/strong><\/p>\n
To be Said to Someone Wearing New Clothes<\/strong><\/h2>\n
