Ibn Abb\u0101s (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhuma) narrated: \u201cI entered with the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa, I and Kh\u0101lid bin Al-Walid, upon Maimunah (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anh\u0101) so she brought us a vessel of milk. The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa drank from it, I was upon his right and Kh\u0101lid was upon his left, so he said to me: \u2018The (turn to) drink is for you, so if you wish, you could choose to grant it to Khalid.\u2019 So I said: \u2018I would not prefer anyone other than myself for your leftovers.\u2019 Then the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said: \u2018Whoever Allah feeds some food, then let him say [the above].\u2019\u201d\u00a0(Tirmidh\u012b 3455)<\/strong><\/p>\n

All praise is for Allah who feeds and is not fed. He favoured us, and thus guided us, blessed us with food and drink, and bestowed upon us every favour. All praise is for Allah, a praise which we will never bid farewell to, a never-ending praise, an accepted praise and an indispensable praise. All praise is for Allah who provided food and drink; who clothed us, guided us from error, removed our blindness and favoured us greatly over many of His creation. All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.<\/pre>\n
Ab\u016b Hurayrah\u00a0(ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu) narrates: \u201cA man from the Ans\u0101r from the people of Qub\u0101 invited the Prophet \ufdfa\u00a0for a meal. O Allah, You have fed and given to drink, You have guided us and revived us. So, to You be all praise for what You have granted.<\/pre>\n
\u02bfAbd al-Ra\u1e25m\u0101n b. Jubayr (ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h) stated that a man who served the Prophet \ufdfa for eight years told him that he heard the Prophet \ufdfa say [the above] when food was brought to him.\u00a0(A\u1e25mad 16159)<\/strong><\/p>\n

May the fasting open their fasts with you, the pious eat your food, and the angels pray for blessings on you.<\/pre>\n
The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa came to visit Sa\u2019d ibn Ubaydah (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u2018anhu), and he brought bread and olive oil, and he ate (them). Then the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said [the above].\u00a0(Ab\u016b D\u0101w\u016bd 3854, Ibn M\u0101jah 1747)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then he was brought dates, and he ate one of them, placed the date-stone between his fingers, and put his index and middle fingers together. Then he was brought a drink and he drank. After that he passed it to the person on his right. He (the narrator) said: My father took hold of the rein of his riding animal and requested him to supplicate for us.
