The Republic of Yemen (Arabic: الجمهورياليمنية, English: Republic of Yemen [1]) is located at the southwestern end of the Arabian Peninsula. Adjacent to Saudi Arabia and Oman, it borders the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Arabian Sea, with a coastline of 1906 kilometers. The climate in mountainous and plateau areas within the territory is relatively mild, while desert areas are hot and dry. Yemen has a recorded history of over 3000 years and is one of the cradles of ancient civilizations in the Arab world. Starting from the 14th century BC, dynasties such as the Kingdom of Ma’in, Saba, and Himyaarit were established successively. In 575 AD, they were incorporated into the Persian Empire and became part of the Arab Empire in the 7th century. In the 9th century, the Rashid Dynasty was established. After the 16th century, they were successively invaded and occupied by Portugal, the Ottoman Empire, and Britain. In 1918, the Mutawakkilia Kingdom of Yemen was established. In 1934, Britain forced the Kingdom to recognize its occupation of southern Yemen, and Yemen was officially divided into North and South. In September 1962, the “Free Officers” organization led by Abdullah Salal launched a revolution, overthrew the Badr dynasty in the north, and established the Yemen Arab Republic. In 1967, South Yemen gained independence from British colonial rule and established the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen. On May 22, 1990, North and South Yemen declared unity and established the Republic of Yemen. [1]
Yemen has a backward economy and is one of the least developed countries in the world. Economic development mainly relies on oil exports. The main economic data for 2021 are as follows: Gross Domestic Product: 21.06 billion US dollars. Per capita Gross Domestic Product: 691 US dollars.

On December 24, 1951, Libya declared independence and established the federal United Kingdom of Libya, which was later renamed the Kingdom of Libya. [1] On September 1, 1969, the “Free Officers Organization” led by Gaddafi launched a coup, overthrew the Idris dynasty, and established the Libyan Arab Republic. In March 1977, the country changed its name to the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Republic. In April 1986, the country changed its name to the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Republic. In 2011, the Gaddafi regime was overthrown. In May 2013, the country was named Libya. [1] After the overthrow of the Gaddafi government, Libya fell into a long-term state of division and turmoil, with declining national strength, ineffective governance, and outdated infrastructure. [24]
Libya is still in a transitional period, with political turmoil and frequent violent incidents. In 2022, Libya’s gross domestic product (GDP) was 38.8 billion US dollars, with a per capita GDP of 5465 US dollars and a GDP growth rate of -5.5%.
